Mango Madness

Let me start off by letting you know, I’ve never been much of a mango fan. But last year I came across these odd looking mangos I’ve never seen before. They peaked my interest and when I tried them, it was love at first bite. They’re called either Ataulfo or Champagne Mangos. Sadly, they just disappeared from shelves a few weeks after I started eating them, nowhere to be found in any grocery store. Turns out they are seasonal (hugh bummer). However…


Champagne Mangos

I wen’t overboard and bought a whole case.

Ever since finishing my fruit and veggie cleanse, I’ve been incorporating much more fruit and veggies into my daily diet, and was so excited when I found the champagne mangos have made their grand re-appearance. There’s even a website, found here, that tells all about them. There’s great recipes, nutrition facts, instructions on how to cut them, and where they’re sold.

So why do I love them so much?

They are seriously delicious! Super smooth and just the right amount of sweetness. They are really juicy, and can be a bit slippery, but the taste is so worth it. I can’t wait to incorporate them into a few new recipes. I bet they would be really good in a smoothie.  Better get them while they last!
